Series 1862 - 1876

From 1862 through 1876 the US government fractional currency in denominations of 3 cents, 5 cents, 10 cents, 15 cents, 25 cents and 50 cents. This smaller than average size currency sometimes looks like postage stamps and was used to facilitate commerce after the civil war when many goods and services could be obtained for less than a dollar.
