HIGH DENOMINATION NOTES
High denomination notes were printed
from series 1928, 1934 and 1934A in denominations of $500, $1,000,
$5,000 and $10,000. These Federal Reserve Notes were issued by each
federal reserve district and they have green seals and green serial
numbers. On July 14, 1969 the Department of the Treasury announced
that the printing of these high denomination notes was being
discontinued because of a lack of demand by the general public.
